Online Physics Lessons

Qualified physics teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Physics, a Master’s and a PhD in biochemical engineering from a top 10 world ranked university. I bring over 25 years of global commercial experience alongside my academic background, which allows me to make complex topics relatable and engaging. I now work in innovation in academia, and I tutor to support students in building both understanding and confidence in physics, and build their resilience and ability to navigate topics and their relevance to the real world, including that of future career options.

Tutoring Experience

I began my teaching career at schools within the Harris Federation and at Brampton Manor Academy — two of the UK's highest-performing state schools.
At both, I taught GCSE and A-Level Physics with a focus on rigorous exam preparation and deep conceptual understanding, contributing to consistently high outcomes. My PGCE-trained approach, combined with real-world business insights, helped students not only excel under pressure but also enjoy the subject. I encouraged them to see physics as a gateway to future opportunities and to engage confidently in meaningful discussions about where it could take them.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is calm and encouraging, while setting high expectations by inspiring students to believe in themselves through mature, respectful conversations tailored to their individual needs. I help students build a strong conceptual foundation and develop confidence in problem-solving and exam preparation. I focus on breaking down challenging physics topics and connecting theory to real-life examples to make learning relevant and engaging.

Each lesson is designed to support the student’s unique goals and pace. I empower students by asking them to complete a red-amber-green self-assessment before each lesson, which we revisit at the end to track progress. Additionally, I maintain open communication with parents, providing updates and suggestions to support learning between lessons.
