Emer

My name is Emer and I have been working as a teacher for 7 years. In my free time, I run, read and take Irish dancing lessons. Additionally, I am a trained classical musician having completed my grades in piano, classical singing and violin.

Tutoring Experience

I am experienced in teaching key stage two and have recently taught year groups 3 - 6. My focus has been on Maths and English planning in the last few years and I have used a variety of common schemes that schools implement. I have worked with children to support their learning coming up to SATs and the 11+.

Tutoring Approach

Generally, I like to tutor in a way that supports school learning reinforcing key vocabulary and addressing misconceptions in learning. It also essential to me that my pupils feel supported and enjoy their lessons. As such, I will also seek to use pupils' interests to create engaging activities.
