Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
I'm a fully qualified, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Biology teacher with 14 years teaching experience.
I currently have an Environmental Science and Evolutionary Biology degree, PGCE (Ma) in Secondary Education and MSc in Science Education.
I have taught Science in a number of different schools during my career, including an all girls school, mixed comprehensive and Grammar school.
I am currently teaching at a highly successful boys Grammar school, specialising in GCSE and A level Biology. Acting as a Lead teacher and leader in my department. I have been in post for 7 years.
Alongside teaching I have been working as an examiner for GCSE Biology for the past 3 years. This has allowed me to get an insider's view into exam technique and how to access the very top grades. Which has undoubtedly been beneficial for my students!
Combining enthusiasm, knowledge, experience and first hand understanding of how papers are marked, I can help you to achieve your Biology potential!

My teaching style is dynamic, student-centered, and highly responsive. I aim to make science engaging and accessible by balancing clear, structured teaching with the flexibility to adapt lessons in real time based on student needs. Every session is built around a personalised learning plan, which I create in collaboration with the student. This ensures lessons are targeted and purposeful, addressing individual goals, strengths, and areas for development.
A typical lesson with me is interactive, focused, and results-driven. I use a mix of explanation, discussion, and exam-style questions to build understanding and exam confidence. I also draw on my experience with exam marking to teach students how to approach questions strategically and maximise their marks.
I enjoy teaching because it allows me to support students in building confidence, developing curiosity, and achieving their academic potential through hard work and guidance.
