Emily

My name is Emily Removed and I am a recent graduate, with degrees in English and Law. I am keen to work with students of all ages, hold an enhanced DBS and am willing to commute where necessary.

Tutoring Experience

I'm currently a volunteer facilitator, running the National Youth Theatre's Assemble programme at Samuel Rhodes School in Islington. This experience involves tailoring content to a students with a range of needs and, often, adapting exercises to render them more accessible. While working for the charity Tender, I also taught RSHE to a group of year 9 and 10 students at a secondary school in Mornington Crescent.

I have a lot of experience tutoring English to GCSE and A level standard, as well as proof-reading personal statements and preparing students for interviews, both with the English faculties at Oxford and Cambridge, as well as high performing independent schools. While studying, I ran a language club for year five students at St Matthew's primary school in Westminster.

Tutoring Approach

As someone who has experienced working with students with a range of abilities and needs, I like to think that my teaching approach is empathetic and student led. As a recent graduate, I am very up to date on the demands of the curriculum and the pressures facing students of all ages so will tailor my lesson plans accordingly, while taking individual needs into account. Having secured offers from a number of independent day and boarding schools, I am also very willing to work with students preparing for the 11+, 13+ and 16+ exams and interviews.
