Chemistry and Biology Teacher in Sheffield

I’m an A-grade student from Sheffield, currently studying Biochemistry (BSc) at Newcastle University. At school, my dyslexia initially held me back—until I found the right tutors who tailored their approach to my learning style. I now take the same kind and empathetic approach with my students, having recently been through A-levels myself. While I’m passionate about science, I also have a strong interest in Geography. I offer Biology and Chemistry tutoring at GCSE level, and Geography at both GCSE and A-level.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience coaching and supporting students in a variety of settings, including mentoring younger pupils in preparation for their exams. I’m very familiar with the curricula, across many different exam boards, these include: AQA, edexcel, OCRa, OCRb and ISEB. Having only recently done my A levels and only done my GCSEs 2 years ago I’m familiar with the schools approach, and what they cannot supply and also the required work load out side of lessons in order for pupils to excel in their exams.

Tutoring Approach

Although I was always a bright student, my dyslexia was a barrier until I received the right support. With the help of a tutor who adapted to my needs, I improved by five grades between my winter mocks and final A-levels. This experience showed me how powerful personalised teaching can be. I firmly believe every student has the potential to improve—often beyond what they think is possible.

I’m punctual, reliable, and typically available for tutoring between 4–10pm.

Each of my lessons follows a flexible structure tailored to the student:

• Discussion and explanation of questions from the previous session
• Focus on a topic of the student’s choice—or one I suggest, with their agreement
• Recap questions at the end
• Optional questions or tasks to work on during the week
