Hello! My name is Emma and I’m a fully qualified Biology teacher, currently teaching at a Grammar School. I am also an examiner for GCSE and A-level across multiple exam boards. I gained a First class (hons) degree in Biochemistry in 2019 from the University of Nottingham and completed my teacher training there also. Biology is an immensely interesting and challenging subject that I am able to apply to every day life- particularly in the current circumstances. I am fully versed in all of the content covered at GCSE and A-level, and have specialist knowledge of molecular biology, immunology, metabolism, disease and medicinal chemistry. I have 5+ years experience with over 350 taught lessons and 60 5* reviews- a link to these can be sent on request.
Please note that I only accept payment in the form of bank transfer a minimum of 24 hours before the scheduled start time of any lesson. This money is refundable given prior notice of non-attendance or the need to rearrange, but is not refundable in the case of non-attendance without notice.
I have been tutoring KS3 science, GCSE and A-level Biology since 2016 and have been teaching since 2019- AQA GCSE and OCR-A A-level. I am a fully qualified Biology teacher currently teaching the full range of year groups from 7-13. I have tutored students on the OCR, AQA, Edexcel and CIE exam boards, and teach AQA GCSE and OCR A-level biology.
My lessons are tailored to you! I base each lesson around the individual, as I understand that people learn in different ways. I will first identify key areas that you feels less confident or confused about, and set out exam questions to identify how much work needs to be done in each area. I will work with you to build on your current notes and the work you have done in class by discussing the content and asking you recall questions on the content, building up notes and re-wording them where necessary. Once you have a strong understanding of the content covered in a session I will teach you how to apply this to exam questions and use mark schemes correctly to ensure that you develop your exam technique. A real emphasis will be placed on key words which you must use to gain marks. I have access to a wealth of resources and will share these with you at a pace best suited to you.
