Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for over three years, teaching a range of students. I have recent first-hand experience of the 9-1 GCSE and new A level exams so my knowledge of the courses is thorough. I always offer up-to-date advice on exam technique and preparation. I cater for all exam boards, at higher or foundation level.

Level 9 in GCSE Maths and English + 8 A*s
A* in A-Level Maths
A in Free Standing Maths Qualification (Additional Maths)

Tutoring Approach

I plan my lessons carefully, adapting to each student's needs and abilities. I teach positivity and perseverance and explain topics in a simple way. We work through practice questions, personalised to suit each student. To ensure that my students feel confident and well-prepared, I combine targeted topic practice with exam questions involving problem-solving. This means that we cover all styles of questions that could appear in the exam. Usually, after each session I set additional practice questions so that students can consolidate their knowledge and then get feedback on their work. Teaching via Zoom makes it easy to communicate verbally and through written methods; we work together on topics interactively to improve pupils' understanding in a relaxed and productive way.
