Hello, I’m Emma! I am studying Maths and Economics at the University of Bath, after achieving A*A*AB in my A Levels. I received my A*’s in Maths and Further Maths. I have always loved maths, from developing problem solving skills with harder questions to learning the syllabus for exams, and I love helping others fully understand the procedures behind each question.

Tutoring Approach

The tutoring style required differs depending on the student, so I like to discuss with the student to find an approach that works best for them. When revising for exams, and especially maths exams, first you need the initial understanding and then the consolidation and practise in context of the exam questions. Maths is all about learning the procedure that you can then apply to any question that is given to you, so making sure a student has a solid understanding of the procedure before tackling questions is vital. Then, they would be able to tackle any question given to them in an exam, and I would help to improve their skill as well as their confidence so that they are fully secure on how to approach their exams.
