As a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Science (Biology), I am passionate about helping young people unlock their full potential in education. During my teacher training, I gained invaluable experience across four placements in three diverse schools. Following my graduation from the PGCE, I am looking for part-time work in education as I pursue Master's degree in Research Methods in Psychology at the University of Liverpool. Due to my background in teaching and Psychology, I have a solid foundation of experience in education and behaviour management, as well as strong interpersonal skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
During my four, school-based PGCE placements, I gained comprehensive teaching experience across a range of subjects and age groups. I taught KS2 primary science, KS3 science and PHSE, GCSE science, A-level Biology, and A-level Psychology. These placements allowed me to develop tailored lesson plans, deliver engaging and accessible content, and adapt my own strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
My teaching approach is student-centred, focusing on creating an engaging learning environment that integrates students' interests into the academic content, and enables students to feel confident when asking questions and exploring new ideas. I emphasise active learning, encouraging students to participate in problem-solving tasks and, where possible, hands-on activities. By connecting abstract concepts with real-world examples, I am to make learning relevant and exciting. Assessment is also key component of my approach; I regularly check for understanding and use this data to guide future lessons.
