I am an approachable, friendly person who enjoys meeting new people. I enjoy reading and sports, particularly swimming. I enjoy working with young people and I am a fully qualified swimming and life safety instructor and I assist the coaching of my schools cross country team. I enjoy volunteering and I have had the opportunity to volunteer for local charities including positive futures as a mentor for young adults and with the 'Time to read' programme teaching young children to read.
I am a Mathematics and Physics teacher currently teaching in Glasgow. I have tutored Maths from primary school level to Higher/A-level and to date each pupil I have tutored has obtained the highest mark achievable in the exams they have sat. This includes GCSE, national 5, A-Level and grammar school transfer assessments. I also work with younger pupils hoping to gain confidence in their mathematical abilities. I currently tutor pupils for Nat 5 maths.
I think tutoring is very beneficial for students who do not get as much one on one time as they need in school. Some students may struggle with particular areas of their subject and tutoring will allow them to focus and improve on these areas. Furthermore I aim to increase the tutees enjoyment of maths through building their confidence in their mathematical ability. I believe an important part of the tutoring process is to ensure the parents are kept up to date with the tutees progress and I give regular feedback on areas we are working on.
