I read Mathematics at the University of Oxford, graduating with an MMath in 2011, and have been tutoring since sixth form, with fifteen years of experience. I have learned what works and what doesn't, and I prefer to keep things simple. Come say hello!

I give each student my full attention, and to that end I only take on a handful of students every academic year. Most tend to stay with me until they finish A-level, so tutoring slots don't come up very often. If you're seeing this, it's one of those rare periods when a slot has become available!

Tutoring Experience

My first student was a classmate who asked me for one-to-one tuition in A-level Maths in 2005, in return for free food at his dad's restaurant (and I still think barter is a great way to pay for tuition!). Not long after that I received a scholarship to study mathematics at Oxford, and continued tutoring in my spare time. I have since worked with most of the major players in the London-based education sector, including Bonas MacFarlane, Oxbridge Applications (now Dukes Education), Bright Young Things, Riviera Tutors and more.

With a decade and a half of experience under my belt, I'd like to think I know a thing or two about passing on knowledge quickly. And despite the neutral passport photo look, I am actually quite friendly, as my students will attest :) For more boring CV stuff, feel free to read past the break.

Tutoring Approach

If you are serious about your education and want to achieve higher exam results, please do get in touch. I am confident that I can help you achieve better grades.

Learning does not need to be difficult. I see no point in wasting the time of my students. My approach is quite simple: show up for lessons, learn the basics and practice them for at least 30 minutes a day (at least 1 hour a day if you're taking further maths) and you will get to where you want to be quickly. This might not seem like much to anyone whose idea of revision is spending seven hours white-knuckling in a library. But that's just the point: most people do not practice effectively. I can help you with this. Most students go up two grades (from C to A or from B to A*) in just 10-15 hours of lessons.
