Year 6 is where my strength lies- particularly with SATs! As this is where my career path began, it’s where I am confident and thrive- even under the pressure that year group brings! Though, my work across Year 5 has proven to be a useful insight, inspiring the progress I anticipate the child needing to make in their transition through Key Stage 2. Over the last few years, I have grown professionally as a Teaching Assistant and a Higher Level Teaching Assistant across a variety of abilities in both State and Independent schools. Currently, I am a Year 6 Teaching Assistant in an independent school.
Teaching experience has been a rollercoaster of a journey for me- and still is! I am incredibly proud that my skills and reputation have given me the chance to provide cover for the class teachers I work with as a HLTA whilst simultaneously maintaining my intervention/ support groups as a TA. I believe that my day job means I truly understand working with children and supporting them appropriately.
Each child is individual and my teaching style reflects exactly that. Understanding a child’s needs is the first important step in setting realistic goals we can work together, one-to-one, to achieve. This is why I strongly recommend in-person tutoring and prefer it to online.
