I'm Fliss - an experienced and qualified teacher with a Masters in Education from Cambridge University.
I love working with young people and their families to help them achieve their potential and have particular experience helping children gain entry in to top independent schools.
Having taught at Highgate School for 11 years, I know the independent school sector inside out.
During my teaching career, I've been Head of Year, Head of Department and part of the school admissions and interview panel.
I have a proven track record as a tutor, with 95% of my students gaining offers to their first choice schools. I am of course happy to provide references from other parents.
To have only one approach would, I feel, make me a pretty terrible teacher! As all children are unique, so too is my approach to teaching them.
What I do find all children respond well to is my warm and nurturing approach. Years of experience have taught me that the vast majority of pupils do not respond well to pressure and that personalising lessons to an individual is vital.
Before commencing sessions, I always like to speak to families to understand their aims and requirements. I offer a free 10 minute phone call so that we can get to know each other and see if we think I'd be the right fit for your child.
