English and History Tuition in Petworth

I have recently been working as a teaching assistant at a SEND school called Undershaw located in Hindhead, Surrey. I have been working as a teaching assistant for more than 2 years now, and would love to be able to help students as a tutor in my time (weekdays, evenings, weekends).
I hold a Masters degree in Psychology from the University of Essex, receiving a grade of distinction, and an undergraduate degree in History and Ancient History from the University of Southampton, receiving Second-class honours, upper edition. I have also recently completed a PG Cert in Computer Science at the University of Essex, receiving a Merit award. I completed 2 A-Levels at college (History and Classical Civilisation), and one during my gap year (Psychology), where I was privately tutored.
I am a big football fan and like to watch football in my free time. I enjoy doing exercise, particularly running. I am also into music, where I play the piano and guitar, and I enjoy reading books to do with History, Philosophy, Archaeology, and Science (mainly Psychology!)

Tutoring Experience

Teaching assistant at Undershaw Education Trust school from Dec 2022-August 2024.
Assistant teacher at a Petworth Primary School from September-November 2022.
Teaching assistant at Bramley Oak Academy from March-July 2022.
I was privately tutored for my Psychology A-Level (completed during my gap year) so I believe that I have some experience about what the tutee desires during the lessons, understanding how to structure the lessons with a consistent strategy, and picking up useful skills and techniques from my tutor when they were teaching me (which resulted in successful outcomes).

Tutoring Approach

Flexible and adaptable to how the student prefers. Can teach in a relaxed, informal manner or in a more focused, serious manner, enabling the most productive learning outcome from the student. Assessing the tutees development on a weekly basis with a consistent, long-term structure. Understanding the tutees' strengths, weaknesses, interests, and disinterests, and adapting those to provide a stimulating, and ultimately successful end result (top grades!).
