From complete beginners to advanced students, I help people of all ages and abilities to develop their musical skills in a fun and person centred way. As a working pianist and composer, I have a well rounded musical sensibility and a keen interest in helping people discover their unique artistic expression. I believe that we all have the ability to be creative, and that everybody has something to gain by learning about music on a deeper level.

I teach piano, keyboard, flute, beginner's voice, music theory, songwriting and composition.

Tutoring Experience

I am Classically trained and hold an Honours Degree in Music from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where I specialised in Jazz Piano and Voice. I am a band member in various music projects across the UK, and have performed in folk groups, funk collectives, and regularly as a theatre musician in operas and as an accordionist. I have worked with Cheltenham Festivals as an outreach music workshop leader, and currently work as a peripatetic music instructor in schools across Cardiff and the Vale.

Tutoring Approach

I am a devoted teacher who is committed to achieving the best possible results for my students. I aim to inspire them and help them in any ways I am able to. I also work with people to address performance anxiety, creativity block, and other issues that may be affecting an individual’s ability to express themselves musically. I am very open minded and, when it comes to musical development, there is nothing that I will shy away from. My lessons are always fun, friendly and informative, and there is never a shortage of topics to cover!
