I am a qualified teacher, GCSE examiner and maths tutor of 10+ years with experience tutoring and teaching Key Stages 1-5 and adult learners.

I am a friendly and approachable person who is willing to work hard to help you improve your abilities and reach your goals. I am flexible and happy to work around any problems you have or reschedule sessions where possible. Families who I have tutored for in the past have always praised me for my patience with students and ability to form strong, trustworthy working relationships.

I have a first class Masters degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton, and A levels in maths, further maths (self taught), physics and chemistry. In my previous career I was a British Army officer. I am a qualified teacher (QTS PGCE) and was awarded a Mathematics Teacher Training Scholarship for displaying the qualities of an inspirational teacher.

Tutoring Experience

Tutoring from age 7 to adults with proven results helping students make significant progress and improve their grades.

I have experience teaching GCSE Maths and GCSE Statistics at both higher and foundation tiers in a UK school and also have a good knowledge of the IGCSE and IB curriculums. My tutoring experience is over a wide variety of qualifications and levels including KS1, 2, 3, GCSE and IGCSE.

Tutoring Approach

Spaces for face-to-face tutoring are available from September on weekday daytimes as well as after school or evenings. All face-to-face tutoring is from my purpose built home classroom in Calne.

Online sessions are available on weekday daytimes, after school and evenings. Limited weekend slots are also available. Online sessions take place in Pencil Spaces, a collaborative, interactive classroom.

All of my 1:1 tutoring sessions are an hour long and term-time only as default. Other session lengths and holiday sessions can be discussed. Your first session will be a 30 minute introductory meeting to discuss goals and for us to get to know each other, this meeting is free of charge.

I also offer online GCSE groups at Foundation and Higher level. The groups include a 45 minute live lesson per week plus individual feedback on consolidation work. Live lessons are on Wednesday evenings for Foundation and Friday evenings for Higher. Groups are paid for per term (£120 per term for terms 1-5 only).
