I am a fully qualified teacher and assessor with an enhanced DBS. Since 2016 I have worked as a one-to-one tutor specialising in accelerated catch-up for primary, secondary and FE students.

I have enjoyed huge success with a large range of students of different abilities all of whom have shown measurable progression. My calm personality and methodical approach has been shown to not only get students back on track but also to boost their confidence. My individually tailored methods promote independent learning skills allowing my students to make outstanding, rapid progress in SATs, GCSEs, BTEC and Functional Skills.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked in partnership with parents, carers, and a comprehensive range of educational and health professionals since. 1993. I am skilled in teaching English, maths, Science (specialising in biology), animal care and management and coaching in independent study methods. I cover KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4, post-16. I provide booster sessions for SATs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and BTEC. In addition to ongoing Safeguarding and Prevent training I have a special interest and training in Asperger's Syndrome/ASC/ASD, SEN, SpLD, Dyslexia, SEMBH, Gifted & Talented, EAL/EFL/ESOL.

Tutoring Approach

I really love helping my students to get going with their education and finding ways to help them build up their confidence to try. Everyone is different and I believe in finding ways of learning that suits each person best. I have loads of very positive experience working with students with ASC, a wide range of special needs, learning difficulties and EAL/EFL/ESOL.
