I am an ex-Head of Science and have successfully taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level for many years. I have a wide experience in working with children both in a school environment and as a junior football coach and manager. I now concentrate on examination work and am currently an examiner and Team Leader (supervising existing markers and mentoring new markers) with two examination boards for both GCSE and International GCE/GCSE.
Currently, I tutor online using Zoom but am happy to tutor face to face in my home.
After graduating with a degree in Physics, I spent some years in industry before becoming a teacher. After two years I became Head of Physics at a North London Comprehensive school. Soon afterwards I was appointed Head of Science at another London school before taking a similar post in Hampshire. I have been tutoring for over twenty years.
All children are different and learn in different ways. One thing is common, however - they all learn better when the work is fun. I like to generate a relaxed relationship with the pupil and vary the work to create a challenging environment.
As an examiner I am able to recognise common mistakes which candidates make and can make a dramatic improvement in examination technique.
