Hello! I offer private English tuition for students in KS3, 4 & 5 and have experience in a range of exam boards.

Through my years of teaching English in secondary schools, I sympathise with students who find it difficult to put their hand up and ask questions in front of their classmates - especially when dealing with some of the challenging ideas that appear in texts studied in English.

As I understand the vulnerability involved in engaging with an artistic and sometimes quite complex subject, I recognise the importance of being a friendly and approachable tutor who first and foremost aims to build a love of the subject and a confidence within those students who might feel lost or nervous in class.

My lessons are full of positivity, warmth and fun, whilst keeping expectations high and the student’s key targets at the forefront of all we do. Each session is crafted with the student's particular needs in mind, ensuring that together we can strive for the best possible result!

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching since 2016. I spent a couple of years at a school in North London where I became familiar with the AQA syllabus for Lang and Lit GCSE and have kept up to date with this exam board through my current tutees. I then moved to the Sunday Times winner of “Southeast state school of the decade”, which is a very high achieving school and gave me the experience of inventing new ways of pushing and challenging highly able students. I taught OCR English GCSE and OCR English Lang/Lit A-Level. I am now a full-time tutor and have also gained experience in the iGCSE.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that having a good relationship with a tutee is an important factor in helping them to feel confident and therefore in helping them to learn. I am a friendly, approachable tutor who helps tutees feel at ease and supported.

I tailor my sessions to each individual’s needs and dedicate myself to creating lessons that inspire and engage. I believe strongly in empowering my students and work hard to find an approach that best suits each individual.
