Hello, my name is Hannah.
I am a friendly, bubbly person with a passion for teaching. I am extremely creative; I love to bake, paint and draw and go for long country walks. I really like getting to know people and feel I have a natural ability to communicate with people. I always try to ensure people feel welcome and comfortable around me.
I have been a teacher for 17 years, working in East London and North Yorkshire. For the last 5 years, I have been a SENDCo and have gained the SENDCo award too. I have taught across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, so I have a wealth of knowledge in Numeracy and Literacy. I have a wide range of experience teaching children with special needs as well as able children who need extra stimulation and challenge. I have worked with small intervention groups as well as working 1:1 with children within the classroom. I have up to date planning and resources to suit all subjects and ages.
I find I am an easy-going and approachable person which children find comforting, especially when they are struggling with something. I think it is important to get that balance between allowing the child to go at their own pace and encouraging them to move forward.
I have a creative mind so often think of new and exciting games to make learning stimulating and fun. I believe in a mixture of practical and written methods to achieve the end result. I also like to use interactive games on the computer so that the childs learning is enjoyable and exciting. I believe in rewarding children positively with stickers and praise.
