I am a qualified Law Lecturer and currently teach A Level Law and Criminology in a Further Education College. I can also teach Business A Level, BTEC or GCSE. I have a 2.1 hons Law Degree from Cardiff University, completed in 2007. I have had experience in numerous legal roles, from conveyancing to probate and even working in a prison! I have a PGCE gained from Newport University and have a good experience in teaching and am fully CRB checked. Excellent references, both personal and from past students, can be provided on request.

Tutoring Approach

Law and Criminology are subjects in which the understanding of the basics is vital. To gain an understanding of the more complex concepts, it is vital that each element is broken down into 'bitesize' chunks. This is where a lot of students have difficulties. I like to adapt my teaching to that of my students; ensuring that my delivery is comfortable and manageable but also challenging. I am patient and a good listener as establishing areas for improvement is vital to success. I use a wide range of resources, making use of the vast amount of modern technological resources that are now available with online contact and support, whilst also never underestimating the effectiveness of the traditional textbook learning method. Each lesson is tailored to the needs and preference of the particular student.
