Professional mathematics tutor since graduating from Cambridge in 2019.
I have tutored for the past 3 years, both privately and in association with Hills Road Sixth Form College. I specialise in teaching Mathematics from GCSE to A-Level and in tutoring students for STEM applications too and interviews for Oxbridge and other top UK Universities.
Experienced with Edexcel, OCR, AQA and OCR MEI for Maths and Further Maths A Level.
Having the privilege to go to Cambridge, a great benefit was the supervision teaching in small groups. Having a 1-1 to with experts was an invaluable experience and allowed to gain a far deeper understanding of the project I would have gained otherwise. Therefore, it's a great joy for me to provide this for students.
Mathematics is an incredibly interesting subject that permeates all aspects of life, including many future careers. Unfortunately, current curriculums often segment subjects without providing a link between them. It was only when I reached university that I saw how principles and theories from different subjects could come together, which was incredibly satisfying. As a result, my approach to teaching is to focus on building strong foundations in individual subjects while also connecting them to create a narrative. I find that this approach motivates students and better prepares them for more challenging exams and interviews where subjects are combined.
The best approach is to have 1-1 interactive classes that engage the student throughout. There are no constraints here, each lesson is tailored to what the student is after and classes involve us working together to solve problems.
My lessons are either online or in person at my office space in Hackney.
