I am an award-winning Postgraduate in International Politics, specialising in Northern Irish Politics, as well as Conflict Studies and Contemporary History. I am passionate about politics and history and helping those experiencing challenges and putting them onto a path to further success!

Tutoring Experience

I have successfully guided students through their History studies at both A-level and university levels. My experience includes providing comprehensive support to a student throughout her A-level History course, where my tailored approach helped her achieve a thorough understanding of key historical events, critical thinking skills, and exam techniques, resulting in a top grade. Additionally, I assisted a university student in navigating the complexities of their History degree through in-depth discussions on various historical periods, help with research and essay writing, and preparation for exams. The student benefited from my detailed feedback and bespoke study plans, ultimately excelling in their university assessments. My teaching philosophy focuses on making history and politics engaging and enjoyable, fostering a deeper understanding of historical contexts and encouraging analytical thinking, with the aim of building confidence and academic excellence in each of my students.

Tutoring Approach

From my experience, learning and education is most successful when classes are student-orientated and engaging!

Student orientated- The first chat is all about you. We'll discuss what you enjoy (and what you don't), any challenges you're experiencing, as well as expectations and any goals you may wish to accomplish. I teach students from GCSE through to a postgraduate level. As an engaging and easy-going person, I find it easy to build rapport, so don't worry, there won't be any awkward silences!

Every student is different and people learn in different ways. A typical lesson will be no longer than an hour and I'll produce bespoke lesson plans for each student, accommodating your learning preferences and styles. This will include everything from facts and figures, to essay structures and source analysis! For those approaching exam season, we will cover past papers, exam techniques and timings and exam board specifications to develop an all-encompassing understanding of the topics at hand.

Finally, engagement is everything! If you're enjoying what you're learning, remembering information becomes so much easier! I aim to make classes enjoyable and fun, covering any concerns you'd like addressed. Politics and History are complicated topics, more so now than ever before. I have studied History and Politics from GCSE through to Postgraduate level and as mentioned in my bio, I am an award-winning Postgraduate in International Politics and therefore uniquely positioned to help you succeed and set you on the path for further success!
