Hi, I'm Heather! I'm a 24 years old post-graduate with a passion for science. I have just completed a Bachelor's degree and received a First class Honours in Biochemistry at the University of Nottingham, specifically focusing on Cancer research. This has allowed me to combine my interests of Biology and Chemistry, both of which I loved in school. My aim is to extend my knowledge and enthusiasm for these subjects to other students so they can achieve their full potential. My peers would describe me as having a kind and approachable nature which I believe is essential for providing a comfortable learning environment where there is no such thing as a stupid question! Having experienced tons of exams myself I understand first hand how stressful the current education system can be however I promise to be positive, enthusiastic and build students confidence.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience tutoring friends and family in GCSE and A Level Maths and Sciences, with a particular focus on Biology and Chemistry at A Level. I hold a First Class degree in Biochemistry and have a strong passion for teaching science. I love helping students build their confidence and understanding in these subjects, and I aim to make learning engaging, clear, and tailored to each student's needs.

Tutoring Approach

I tailor teaching methods to meet each student's unique needs and learning style therefore all my lessons are different, however I do follow a basic structure: During sessions, I specifically tailor the content to align with the students exam boards and syllabus. To ensure comprehensive coverage, I utilise the specification points as a guiding framework. Recognising that success in exams relies on the application of knowledge, I incorporate past paper questions and practice examples to thoroughly prepare students. My aim is to help students unlock their full learning potential and best prepare them for exams. - 1 hour 1-1 sessions
