Hi, I'm a friendly and well-rounded education professional originally from Italy, now based in London for the past 15 years. I completed both my degree and PGCE with QTS here in the UK, and I’m passionate about helping young learners grow in confidence and knowledge.
I'm thoughtful, well-organised, and bring a calm, encouraging energy to every lesson. With a strong background in competitive sports and martial arts, I also believe in the power of discipline, motivation, and resilience — values I love to pass on to my students. I aim to create a positive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Since completing my degree in 2018, I’ve gained a broad range of experience across educational settings. I began in Early Years, then moved into primary schools where I worked as a Teaching Assistant, supporting both whole-class learning and individual pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This hands-on experience deepened my passion for inclusive education and led me to specialise in SEN and gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
I’ve worked in both mainstream and specialist schools, and over the past two years, I’ve taught across Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, and currently Key Stage 3 in a specialist SEN setting. My current school follows a trauma-informed approach, and I’ve developed strong skills in supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, both academically and emotionally.
I also have extensive experience working closely with external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Specialists, and Educational Psychologists. I'm confident in writing, reviewing, and updating EHCPs to ensure pupils receive targeted and meaningful support.
My teaching approach is child-centred, nurturing, and responsive to each learner’s unique needs. I believe in creating a safe, predictable, and encouraging environment where children feel emotionally secure and ready to learn.
In my practice, I use a wide range of evidence-based SEN strategies. These include:
Colourful Semantics to support sentence structure, expressive language, and comprehension.
Concrete and visual supports such as objects of reference, visual timetables, Now & Next boards, and manipulatives to reinforce understanding.
TEACCH-style workstation systems to promote independence and reduce cognitive overload.
Sensory breaks and regulation tools integrated into the day, helping students manage anxiety and remain engaged.
Social stories and role play to develop social understanding and emotional literacy.
Makaton (basic use where appropriate) to support communication for non-verbal or minimally verbal learners.
I also embed structured routines, clear boundaries, and positive reinforcement throughout my teaching to build confidence and consistency. I’m committed to reflective practice and staying informed on current research and developments in the field of SEN. My goal is always to adapt and evolve my approach so that each student can access learning, feel valued, and make meaningful progress, both academically and personally.
