I am currently a lecturer at one of the UK's leading universities and I've got four years of teaching experience in higher education. I have been recognised as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) since 2023. Also, my GRE scores are Verbal Reasoning 167/170 (98th percentile), Quantitative Reasoning 170/170 (97th percentile), and Analytical Writing 5/6 (91st percentile). I thoroughly enjoy helping students achieve their goals and take great pride in their successes. It is particularly rewarding when students express their gratitude or recommend me to their friends, which has motivated me to continue teaching even during my busy PhD years.
I started tutoring in 2014 as a full-time language instructor at an international language school, primarily teaching non-native students for English language exams such as IELTS and TOEFL. Initially, I taught group classes with 15-30 students, achieving a 100% satisfaction rate and helping many students achieve high scores, with some obtaining an IELTS score of 8 out of 9.
Around 2016, I began one-on-one tutoring. My first individual student was an A-level student whom I helped achieve an A* grade. Later, the same student sought my guidance for the GRE, and under my tutoring, his Verbal score improved from 141 (12th percentile) to 162 (89th percentile) out of 170, and his Quantitative score improved from 156 (49th percentile) to 169 (91st percentile) out of 170. This success enabled him to secure a fully funded PhD offer from an Ivy League university in the US.
Since then, I have received numerous tutoring requests, expanding my scope from language exams to standardised tests (GCSE, A-level, IB etc.) and bespoke undergraduate courses. To date, I have tutored over a thousand students, including 200+ one-on-one students, with a total teaching time exceeding 3000 hours. Many of my students are return clients, and I have guided numerous students from high school through to their undergraduate graduation. My clients are often so satisfied with my tutoring that they recommend me to their friends and family, leading to a significant number of new students through word-of-mouth referrals.
I teach using an iPad and Apple Pencil to ensure students can clearly see the notes in real time. Besides Skype, I also use my own teaching platform, Classin, which accommodates multiple students and offers various interactive tools such as timers and polling. My teaching style involves breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable terms, and I excel in exam preparation.
Availability: I am currently available for tutoring on weekdays after 7 pm and during weekends.
