Tutoring Experience

Have two years of tutoring experience, working with students from a range of ages and abilities. Primarily tutor secondary school age students although have experience of working with primary students as well. Have vast experience working with GCSE students, including helping groups of students, having achieved a grade 9 in Maths GCSE myself.

Tutoring Approach

I feel I'm uniquely positioned to help students as it wasn't long ago that I was in their shoes, and so I've picked up lots of experience from my own education that I can use to benefit them. I believe in tailoring the session to suit the individual, as no two students have identical styles of learning and what works for one may not be as effective for another. Once I've taught a topic to student, I go through worked examples with them before giving them some questions to attempt on their own. This helps consolidate their learning, but also allows me to identify any particular aspects they may be struggling with, and rectify the problem.
