Hello, I am a qualified science teacher who has taught in a range of schools. I am also an Examiner for the AQA board, and am rated as an A grade examiner.
I have previously worked as an ecologist, and am currently re-training to become a healthcare practitioner, so I am somewhat obsessed with biology!
I have taught in both comprehensive schools and public institutions, including the prestigious Charterhouse in Surrey.
I have taught from KS3 up to A level. I have taught the exam boards Edexel, WJEC, AQA and OCR.
Although it's a fabulous subject, Science can at times seem daunting and somewhat scary, so my initial goals are to increase a students confidence and to make their learning fun! I will break a difficult topic down in a way that makes it easier to understand, and I will support my students to demonstrate their understanding by successfully applying it to exam questions and other forms of assessment.
As a fully qualified teacher, I have been taught and assessed on my ability to explain concepts clearly; to adapt my teaching style so that it's suitable for each individual, and to make my learning relevant, fun and to teach in a way that best enhances each students progress. I also use a range of fun resources, such as card sorts, models, puzzles and board games.
