Having been awarded a full academic scholarship during my study at The John Lyon School and now reading medicine in my fourth year at Imperial College School of Medicine. I understand the immense rewards a good education can provide. My principal drive in wanting to teach others stems from the very fact that anyone can achieve top grades, as long as they understand key concepts, and figure out how to apply them. Aiming to always teach students how to learn, a skill many aren't taught, so that they can push themselves more, both independently and confidently. Reaching the top grades, securing the top schools/universities, and scoring the most sought-after scholarships.
Over my professional private-tutoring career, spanning over 6 years, I have worked with hundreds of students lifting struggling students from 5s through to 8/9s, helping them realise their true potential with my unique teaching methods. Outside of tutoring students through national exams I have aided and experienced in tutoring for 11+/13+ applications, getting students into top schools such as Westminster, St Pauls and Harrow. Not only securing places but also being awarded scholarships in the process.
Early in my career I've held roles for finding and exemplifying high-achieving pupils in schools all around London. Understanding how they've come to achieve what they have, and applying those skills to other students, helping them to achieve their own goals through tutoring sessions. All in all, working with students over the years, I have seen first hand how 1-to-1 tutoring makes an ideal platform to motivate and guide students. Helping many students flourish and seek to pursue their studies further with greater diligence and determination.
I also specialise in tutoring for medical school entrance exams and applications, having taught students studying for BMAT and UCAT exams for over 3 years with various agencies and independently, I have a skill-set appreciable for helping students score well-above entrance requirements for many UK medical schools. With students securing places a top universities such as Oxbridge, Imperial and UCL. Esteemed medical schools with recognition around the globe. With my own question banks and exam tips I take students, starting from the very beginning to being exam-ready in just a few short weeks.
Having completed my A-Levels, in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. As well as having achieved more than 11A*s at GCSE, scoring 100% in three of them, I have a fresh understanding of the struggles and nature of exams these days. I know where they try to catch students out, as well as how to overcome gaps in knowledge.
Through my teaching process, I try to tailor the teaching to the student, given every person has their own unique understanding and way of learning. I also try to tach students to learn in their own ways, given a tutor is never always present, thus the ability to find out answers through your own reasoning and deduction is invaluable to students especially when trying to achieve top grades. Furthermore, a combination of past paper practise integrated with active recall, I try to naturalise my students into how the exam-board marks questions so that marks aren't worthlessly lost over 'wording' or miscommunication. So that with all the skills put together my students have a sharp understanding of both their material and their exam.
