Hola! Salut! My name's Isabella and I am a third year International Management and Spanish student at the University of Bath. Prior to this I completed 11 GCSE's, 3 A-Levels (Spanish, French and Geography) and an EPQ at Francis Holland School in London.

I have been passionate about languages and learning about different cultures from a very young age, as I was fortunate enough to have been brought up speaking both English and Spanish. This gave me the ability to realise the benefits that speaking another language even if to a basic level can bring you and the feeling of accomplishment it brings when you are able to communicate in that language. I have studied both Spanish and French (GCSE and A-Level) and Italian (GCSE) so I understand how much work and repetition learning a new language entails however, I can assure you it is worth it!

Whilst studying A-Levels in French and Spanish I learnt a lot about the cultures in these countries, the history, the current events, politics, social issues. Aside from this I keep up to date with the news across South America, Spain, and France on a regular basis.

Tutoring Experience

Throughout my secondary school years I helped my friends and peers with both French and Spanish, however I have no formal tutoring experience yet. However I am super enthusiastic about helping people improve their linguistic abilities and gain confidence in the language they are learning!

Tutoring Approach

I will begin by trying to understand what my tutee would like to achieve from our sessions so I would be able to better understand how to tailor our lessons to this. Additionally, I would review what we had done week on week as this is particularly important when learning a new language and ensure we would resolve any issues as soon as they arrive.

I am a very patient and empathetic person and I can understand that sometimes learning a language can be hard, however, I would like to try to make the process as stress-free and beneficial as possible tailoring the lessons to the tutees interests and way of learning.
