I am a married mum of two boys - one in a local prestigious, independent school and the elder at a Russell group university. I started tutoring ten years ago and have achieved some fabulous results. One student improved from a grade 4 to a grade 8. Most of my students make a grade or two improvement over the course of my tutoring. I tutor during the holidays and especially over the summer. This will enable those students to either get a head start or help improve if facing exams upon their return to school in September. I tutor from my home in Caterham on Mon, Tues and Weds evenings.

Tutoring Experience

I am a very experienced teacher of over 30 years. I have progressed through from mainscale teaching to Head of Department for over 10 years and then on to Assistant Head of a large independent school for 5 years. I am now back teaching as mainscale due to family commitments and love of being in the classroom with students. I teach both ends of the scale - those students that need support in passing their exams - grade 4-5 and also those that are looking at 8/9 and wish to study the subject further. I have been graded as an outstanding teacher in the schools I have worked in and have a passion for my subject. I teach all three sciences to GCSE level and am happy to focus on either just one or all three.

Tutoring Approach

I use resources from the appropriate exam boards to ensure complete topic coverage and my own resources that I have created over the years that are proven to ensure understanding. I deliver my sessions through ICT, worksheets and past paper exam questions. I am approachable and flexible with my students but have high standards and always want the best off any student I tutor.
I am also available to tutor during school holidays and run slightly longer sessions during these times.
