I am a qualified native teacher of French and Spanish ( QTS). My PGCE has enabled me to work in various secondary schools and colleges in the UK.
I have a life long interest in linguistics and studied this in depth for my Licence d'anglais and the Diploma in Translation
During the lessons, I focus on speaking in order to quickly improve Listening and Oral skills ( photos/ videos/ games). Developing the student's enjoyment in the subject also allows for quick progress to take place. I am often told that am kind and patient- I do believe these are necessary qualities as a tutor to create a trusting relationship with a young person.
I consistently achieve A and A stars for my students by building up their confidence and interest in the subject .

Tutoring Experience

PGCE qualified ( QTS), I have been a teacher for 15 years across various exam boards (AQA, CIE, Edexcel, IB, 13+). Most recent tuition:
08/2024: grade 9 achieved following preparation for AQA GCSE French.
08/2024: Edexcel Spanish, moved up 3 grades from predictions
From Sept 2019 - now. Online French & Spanish lessons to British and overseas students attending UK independent schools. Preparation for common entrance/ scholarship/ IGCSE and A level
2022: Teaching N online for Common Entrance tests. Objectives achieved.

2021: Teaching M since 09/19 for his GCSE exams this year. Excellent feedback published on First Tutors.
2020: Pre-U Cambridge. I helped R, an Eton student. become more fluent with this spoken language to enable him to debate on a variety of subjects. I also worked with him on his grammar in order to use higher level grammar in his exam.

Tutoring Approach

Excellent tutoring takes into account the pupil's way of learning and what motivates them. Being a qualified UK teacher, I know all the language teaching techniques to help students improve quickly and clarify areas of grammar through recognised methods.
I believe that a sense of humour can help break down the barriers of learning and put a student at ease. I provide written constructive feedback between lessons and set tasks to strengthen weaker areas highlighted in the lesson.
