Ishaan

Hello! My name is Ishaan and I am a fifth year medical student at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge. During the third year of my degree, I undertook an intercalation year studying physiology, development and neuroscience. I have a specific interest in orthopaedic surgery which is currently the pathway that I am planning to pursue after medical school. Outside of my academic life, I enjoy rowing for my college boat club and weightlifting at the gym.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a private tutor for the past 7 years, teaching maths and science at GCSE and A level. During my first two years at University, I worked at Immerse Education Summer school as both a mentor and manager, helping students between the ages of 13-18 prepare for university admissions. Finally, I spent two years teaching Hinduism at Sai School of Harrow to a small class of year three students. I am therefore well placed to deliver high quality lessons to students of a variety of ages.

Tutoring Approach

I see my role as a tutor as one of guiding and enabling students to reach their full academic potential. I prioritise clarity and understanding, taking the time to break down complex concepts and ensure students build a solid foundation of knowledge. I also focus my lessons on developing effective study techniques and strategies that have proven valuable in my own academic journey. My teaching approach places particular emphasis on active learning through exam questions and past papers, with a strong focus on understanding the marking criteria and learning how to approach assessments with confidence and precision.
