I am currently in my second year at university, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, building upon a strong academic foundation established at The Manchester Grammar School Sixth Form, where I excelled in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, earning four A Levels. At school, I took an active role in fostering mathematical interest by leading three afterschool Mathematics Societies and Clubs catering
to students of varying ages and academic levels.

I've also dedicated myself to tutoring students, specialising in GCSE Mathematics and Further Mathematics, driven by my unwavering enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge and my deep-seated belief in the transformative power of education.

Beyond academics, I've pursued various extracurricular activities, including completing the Bronze and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards, achieving the Silver Arts Award, and attaining the UKMT Silver and Gold Awards for my mathematical prowess. Additionally, I've showcased my talents in debate, clinching victories such as the Debate Mate Urban Cup 2017 and Debate Mate Regionals 2017, while also emerging as a finalist in Debate Mate Regionals 2018.

Furthermore, I've honed my skills in robotics, culminating in being named a finalist at the EEP Robotics: Tomorrow’s Engineers 2017 Nationals.

Tutoring Experience

I bring nearly four years of extensive tutoring experience, having worked with over 100 students to date. Specialising in GCSE Mathematics and Further Mathematics, I am well-versed in teaching all exam boards, ensuring comprehensive coverage of curriculum requirements.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my tutoring journey has been witnessing struggling students make remarkable academic strides under my guidance. I take pride in helping students who were previously struggling, enabling them to achieve high grades in Mathematics. It's incredibly fulfilling to see students who were initially earning grades 2-4 progress to achieving grades 7-9 in GCSE Mathematics.

Furthermore, I'm proud to have facilitated the success of 24 students who attained Grades 9 in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics, reflecting the quality and impact of my tutoring approach.

During the challenging periods of lockdown in 2020 and 2021, all while juggling my studies for A Levels, I remained committed to supporting students' learning journeys, tutoring over 30 individuals remotely.

Tutoring Approach

I believe the best approach to tutoring is a personalized and student-centered method. Every student has their unique learning style, pace, and areas of strength and weakness. Therefore, I tailor my approach to meet the individual needs of each student. I start by assessing their current understanding of the subject matter and identifying any gaps in their knowledge. From there, I design customized lesson plans and practice exercises to address those gaps while also building on their existing skills.

I encourage active participation and provide plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions and engage with the material. By fostering a supportive and interactive learning environment, I aim to empower students to develop not only a deeper understanding of Maths concepts but also the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to excel in their academic journey.
