A Pearson EdExcel examiner for A level Pure Mathematics, I am experienced in teaching Mechanics, Statistics, Further Maths Core Pure and Decision Maths. I am also a veteran of the new specification GCSE Higher/Foundation and AQA GCSE Further Mathematics.

Tutoring Experience

Working the last 4 years as KS5 Maths coordinator, I have led many students to success at Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions, highlights including a class of 9 all obtaining an A* at A level. I have overseen the development of an ALPS 2 (top 10% of progress nationally) curriculum at an Outstanding school.

It is important to quickly build a supportive rapport and healthy attitude to making mistakes for the most effective Mathematical learning.

With a wealth of resources and expertise, I like to first ascertain your current capabilities and goals before producing a personalised approach for inside and outside of sessions to best serve your needs.

Immediately, we will develop your fluency of foundational skills while developing your reasoning and problem-solving ability, which are key aspects of the new-spec qualifications.

We will explore links across content and explore wider themes underpinning the syllabus as a whole. I am also able to share effective exam technique to ensure you are able to communicate your understanding effectively and fulfil the best potential grades.

Lessons are most meaningful when learners are able to direct their own learning based on their own struggles or work set between sessions. My breadth of experience can isolate specific issues and offer extra support on these to build confidence and turn weaknesses into strengths.
