Dr in Mathematics specialising in Statistics.
I have a Ph.d in Mathematics and Statistics entitled "Allometric and Fluctuation Scaling in Health, Well-Being and Mortality". I also have a Master of Research degree in Mathematical Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. Other qualification include Qualified teacher status and Fellowship in Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
I love teaching because it provides me with the opportunity to inspire and empower students, foster a deeper understanding of complex concepts, and witness the transformative impact of knowledge as it shapes and enriches their lives.
In my teaching role at the university, I am the module leader for all the statistics modules in an undergraduate Artificial Intelligence and Data Science course. This includes the modules: Statistical Methods (first year), Advanced Statistics (second year), and Stochastic Processes (third year). I am also research active in statistics and data science with multiple publications (see Google Scholar) and international conference talks.
I am also a fully qualified teacher with experience at all levels (KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-Level and University) of Mathematics. I have taught mathematics at Brunts Academy, Woodlands School, Nottingham Academy, Nottingham Trent University, and the University of Derby.
I am honored to announce that I have recently been awarded a prestigious Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). The award is given for commitment to quality teaching and learning. It recognizes my expertise and impact in teaching and learning practices, as well as their ongoing commitment to professional development in higher education.
As a dedicated mathematics educator, I undertake the pivotal roles of meticulously planning and delivering engaging mathematics curriculum. Ensuring students' well-being and fostering their academic progress through personalized support are integral aspects of my commitment. By employing innovative teaching strategies and fostering a collaborative learning environment, I strive to cultivate a passion for mathematics and facilitate students' success.
