Semi retired Secondary School English teacher with a zest for life and interactive teaching style. My caribbean heritage has instilled a respect for education which I in turn instill in my students. Teaching is my passion as I struggled as a child and have a deep understanding of what it is to find learning difficult so I am able to help my students find strategies to help themselves.
As a previous Head of Year for over 7 years as well as an English teacher for over 15 years I have a wide range of experiance. My speciality is working with looked after children and children with SEN needs as I was also a foster carer for many years supporting children with various disabilities.
I bring English alive with my mix of culture, music and fun which helps students to visualise what they are learning. I am especially adept at breaking down GCSE tasks to support weaker students and assit them in building up their self confidence in answering question and building up their own self esteem.
