I’m a Head of Physics, examiner, educational consultant and a science tutor with over 8 years experience. I provide the highest quality of support for students studying IB, GCSE and A-level Science and believe in the philosophy that anyone can learn anything!

Tutoring Experience

I gained my Diploma in Science Education while working as a teacher in Birmingham and have since then worked with schools and tutoring companies over the world, training educators and helping students achieve their potential. Teaching is more than just knowing your subject, successful communication with a student has many aspects and can look wildly different for each individual. If you engage with the teacher, you will engage with what they're teaching!

I have experience teaching Science with all UK exam boards including iGCSE. Lessons can be booked for a single subject or a combination of physics, biology and chemistry to suit the student's needs.

Tutoring Approach

Science is not just a subject, it is a crucial tool for understanding the world around us. Instead of simply providing answers, I guide my students through a series of thought-provoking questions, each one an opportunity to grow and explore. We will delve deep into concepts, uncovering layers of understanding together. Through this approach, students learn not only what to think, but how to think.

As a tutor seeing a student once a week, I can’t hope to compete with the thousands of hours they spend learning in school. What I can do, however, is teach them to use that time efficiently and discover what methods work best for them. I give all my students a pamphlet I wrote on how to study effectively, which covers everything from creating the right environment to revise in, to how to cope with exam stress.

I offer an initial diagnostic session in which I can determine areas of weakness within the subject and start to explore what approach will lead to the most progress for your child. Lessons can also be focused on specific topics, upcoming exams or as a recap of the subject's basics. I have supported thousands of students through their exams and can help you prepare in the easiest, most effective way!
