Editor of Bedales Arts Magazine, and contributing writer for ISIS Magazine and Cherwell Newspaper, Oxford.
I have been a professional tutor for over three years and have helped many students grow academically and achieve their goals. My students have significantly improved their grades at GCSE and A-Level, going on to achieve top results. I also specialise in admission examinations and interviews - I have helped students gain scholarships and places to study at top schools across the country including Eton, Westminster, St Paul's, Wycombe Abbey, Winchester and Harrow. In two of the last three years one of my students has gone on to gain a prestigious King's Scholarship at Westminster School.
Alongside private tutoring I have also worked as a teacher and practitioner at University level with Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, one of the world's best drama schools. This has significantly strengthened my communication and emotional skills, and gives me a unique skillset in approaching other teaching work. As well as teaching students at the school, I have worked with the school to develop their welfare, reporting and EDI policies, consulting on how they can more effectively incorporate student voice and experience into their management.
I pride myself in combining my academic expertise and passion with strong interpersonal skills that allow me to create positive relationships with my students. I have taught both one-to-one and group sessions over hundreds of hours, always ensuring that students are active participants in their own learning, and that sessions are joyful as well as productive. I work rigorously with examiner's reports, mark schemes and past papers to boost key skills and techniques, and tailor sessions to students' particular needs.
