Jasmine

Hi there! My name is Jasmine and I teach English Literature and Language at a Bristol independent school; I cover all yeargroups from Years 7-13 and also teach A-Level English Language.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a qualified teacher since 2013 and have taught at my current school for six years.
I have also examined for a main UK exam board for a number of years, focusing on both GCSE Literature and Language papers as well as A-Level English Language Paper 2. I have taken up an additional post with a second exam board from summer 2023 too.

Tutoring Approach

I take a very flexible approach to tutoring, helping students find individual ways to retain their knowledge through well-organised and well-connected revision materials.
I am able to offer writing frames and sentence stems to give students confidence in how their essay should look structurally, as well as the ideal content that needs to be included. I do think that it is really important for students to understand HOW to answer an exam question and build a reasoned argument - no matter what specific topic comes up.
I am also an extremely thorough marker, offering specific and targeted comments for improvement based on the mark scheme.

I am able to offer daytime tutoring to home-schooled students, or those who are not accessing schooling, as well as limited evening tutoring slots.
