My name is Jasmine and I am a fully qualified English teacher. I love to read and foster a love of reading with my students. I believe that it is a privilege to teach children and I am committed to providing students with a fulfilling learning experience that will enable them to succeed not just in education but in wider life as well. I believe that forming positive relationships with students is fundamental in ensuring they have the best possible educational outcomes and I strive to learn about my students and their lives as they learn from me.
I currently work as a Head of Department at a secondary school and have 10 years of teaching experience. I have taught KS3 English and GCSE English for AQA and Edexcel. Additionally, I have marked for AQA English literature and English language for the past 5 years and have extensive knowledge of the subject and skills required to be successful at GCSE.
My approach can be defined by ACE- adaptive, creative, engaging. I strive to adapt lessons and resources to the needs of students so that they are able to access the learning and gain a sense of achievement in every lesson. To do this, lessons should also be creative to maximise engagement from students and I strive to include creative tasks that ensure students are focused throughout their lesson which enables them to achieve the best possible outcomes. I am approachable and kind and I listen to the needs of my students. I endeavour to form positive relationships with students so that they feel safe to take risks in their learning and push themselves further to exceed their expectations and potential.
