As a current Assistant Headteacher with over 11 years of classroom experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, I understand how important it is for children to feel confident, supported and inspired in their learning. My approach to tutoring is calm, personalised and rooted in a deep understanding of how children learn best. I’m passionate about helping every child reach their full potential, whether that’s boosting confidence, filling gaps or stretching them further. For me, it’s not just about results (although those matter too); it’s about nurturing curiosity and creating those magical ‘lightbulb moments’ that make learning stick. Outside of school, I enjoy amateur theatre and being out in nature, both of which help me bring energy and creativity to every session!
I’m an experienced Assistant Headteacher with over 11 years of teaching across the primary age range, from EYFS through to KS2. I continue to teach alongside my leadership role, and bring a deep understanding of how children learn at every stage of their primary journey. I’ve supported pupils preparing for 11+ exams and SATs in KS2, built solid foundations in English and maths in KS1, and helped children take their very first steps in reading and writing in EYFS. As a former Maths Lead and Curriculum Lead, I’ve designed and delivered targeted programmes that help children close gaps, build confidence and make excellent progress. Parents describe me as friendly, approachable, committed and focused. I pride myself on creating a calm, encouraging learning environment where children can thrive.
My approach to tutoring is personalised, creative and carefully thought through. I take time to understand each child’s individual needs, identifying specific gaps and tailoring every session to support their progress in a way that works for them. I believe learning should be meaningful and memorable, so I use creative strategies and, where appropriate, weave in children’s interests to make lessons engaging and relevant. Whether it’s football-themed maths or story writing based on their favourite characters, I aim to make learning enjoyable as well as effective. I’m patient, encouraging and determined to help every child achieve their potential, building not just skills and knowledge, but also confidence and a sense of pride in their learning.
