I have a very strong mathematical background having completed gcse mathematics, gcse statistics, level 2 numeracy, a level mathematics, a level further mathematics and a first class honours degree in mathematics. That being said I also currently teach as well as having QTS, PGCE, level 2 in understanding autism, level 2 certification in the principles of working with people with learning disabilities, level 2 counselling skills, level 2 in understanding mental health conditions and teaching in English in multilingual classrooms (lexis education). I always strive to better understand each individual student which is why I spend spare time undertaking these additional qualifications. In addition I have a masters degree in educational leadership and management from the University of Nottingham.
I have taught in comprehensive, grammar and private schools. I am an Edexcel GCSE examiner who has always scored exceeding expectations as well as an IB examiner. Ive taught GCSE maths (2 different specs), GCSE statistics, iGCSE maths (3 different specs), A level maths (2 different specs) as well as IB maths (2 different specs). My current role is as an 11-18 igcse and A level maths teacher.
I believe in enabling students to decide what they best need. Sometimes they instantly know, whereas other times this requires coaxing. I don't believe in forcing a specific style onto any student and strongly believe in students having an input into both content and delivery. Homework can be set or not depending on preference.
