I’m a dedicated and enthusiastic fully-qualified English teacher with a passion for helping students grow in confidence and achieve their potential. I believe in fostering a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking, helping students develop the skills they need for both exams and life beyond the classroom. Outside of teaching, I enjoy scriptwriting, live music and contemporary fiction.
I have over a decade of experience teaching English, Film, and Media Studies to students of all abilities, from Key Stage 3 to A-Level. I am highly familiar with the AQA and EDUQAS syllabuses and have worked as an examiner, giving me valuable insight into how to help students succeed in their exams.
I have also worked as a private tutor for the last five years both online and in-person.
My teaching style is student-focused, engaging, and supportive. I aim to build confidence through structured, interactive lessons that develop key skills in reading, writing, and analysis. I tailor my teaching to each student’s needs, using clear explanations, targeted feedback, and strategies to help them break down complex ideas. I also encourage critical thinking and independent learning, ensuring that students feel prepared not only for exams but for the wider world.
