I am doing a PhD in Astrophysics and, since my undergraduate degree at Imperial College, I have been interested in sharing my knowledge with younger students so that they may not only understand both Physics and Maths better, but also share my passion for these subjects.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently doing a PhD in Astrophysics and I have tutored Physics and Maths since 2013 to students of various levels (from 11+ to A-Level). I studied Theoretical Physics at Imperial College London and started tutoring students both in one-to-one sessions and in small groups (mainly for younger students) during my studies.

Tutoring Approach

I start my tutoring by assessing the student's current working level as well as what their expectations are from the tutoring sessions.
During the lessons, I answer any general questions they may have since the previous session, and then move on to the specific topic to be covered in the session. This may be something the student is currently learning in school, or some other topic that they find challenging. I typically ask the student to tell me what they understand about the topic, then explain whatever is not clear and move to the application of that topic to various examples. At the end of the session, I review with the student what we covered that day to make sure the tutoring was productive and agree on what we will go over in the next session.
