I offer maths tutoring up to A-level or equivalent (n.b. currently not including A-Level further maths), helping you excel in exams while deepening your understanding of this fascinating subject. Tutoring Experience

I have some informal tutoring experience in maths and whilst at school and college I participated in a number of academic clubs and groups where I helped my peers with their maths work, I love tutoring and I have always been appreciated on account of my clear and inspiring explanations.

Tutoring Approach

Mathematics is a balance of theory and practice, and my teaching approach reflects this. Learning maths effectively requires more than understanding abstract definitions or focusing solely on solving problems—it involves knowing both why we do something and how to do it.

I adapt to each student’s learning style, considering factors like the topic’s familiarity, whether it builds on prior knowledge, or if it can be introduced through related concepts. Generally, I find that starting with concrete examples helps students grasp ideas, which can then be expanded into generalisations, rules, and theorems.

I prioritise developing both intuition and problem-solving skills, ensuring students understand the purpose and application of mathematical concepts rather than memorising them in isolation. Above all, I aim to make maths enjoyable and inspiring.
