Hi! My name's Joel and I'm currently studying History and Politics of the Americas (BA) at UCL. I previously studied Chemistry at Imperial College London for two years, before ultimately deciding to change my path. Learning is something that I have always enjoyed, which has translated into teaching - I hope to help foster this enjoyment in others, as I think it's invaluable.
Having studied two very different disciplines at a high level, I am able to tutor an array of subjects. I am a strong writer, having written innumerable essays and lab reports. I am very confident with regards to History, Maths and Chemistry - having studied History & Chemistry at university level, and Maths up until my A-Levels (in which we covered core, further and decision maths, mechanics, and statistics).
A core understanding of a subject enhances studies dramatically (understanding why certain methods work and are used), and I would assist a tutee in applying this knowledge to exam style questions and past papers. I believe that this improves genuine interest and enjoyment, having a subsequent impact on achievement.
