Hi, I’m John! I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Political Science and am currently completing a Master’s in AI and Ethics at Northeastern University London before starting law school in the fall. My academic path has combined humanities and STEM, and I love helping students make connections across subjects—whether that’s understanding the logic behind a maths problem, crafting a compelling essay, or exploring ethical questions in technology. I’ve worked with students of all ages, and I strive to bring energy, patience, and clarity to every lesson.

Tutoring Experience

I’ve tutored students for several years across a broad range of subjects, including Maths (Algebra, Geometry, GCSE), Computer Science fundamentals, English literature and writing, History, and interdisciplinary research. My undergraduate and graduate studies have given me strong foundations in both critical thinking and analytical reasoning. I’ve helped students improve their exam results, refine their academic writing, and gain confidence in subjects they once found challenging. I also have experience with personal statements and university application support.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is adaptive, supportive, and goal-oriented. I begin by understanding each student’s current level, learning style, and goals, and then design lessons that meet them where they are. Whether we’re tackling a complex maths problem or breaking down a historical text, I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation, encouraging active thinking, and creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions. I aim to help students not just succeed in their current coursework, but develop skills they can carry forward into future academic challenges.
