ONLY ONE SPACES REMAINING FOR SEPTEMBER 2024
I have been an Expert Examiner for Edexcel for over 10 years and for each year of the new specification. I am examine:
Paper 1: Markets and Business Behaviour
Paper 3: Microeconomics and macroeconomics
I am currently the Head of Economics and Business at an oversubscribed independent school on the outskirts of London.
Between September 2018 and August 2024 I was the Head of Economics at an 'Outstanding' London grammar school and my department was part of the 'Deep Dive' by Ofsted in which my teaching and resources were thoroughly observed. Ofsted commented on the excellent questioning, the development of knowledge and the trust that students have in me and my approach.
I am an Economics Subject Tutor for the Academic Enrichment Progamme for the University of Cambridge (Lucy Cavendish College).
Many of my students go onto Oxbridge and a significant majority go to Russell Group universities.
As well as one to one tutoring I offer:
• Intensive revision and catch up days at weekends and in school holidays
• Individual/small group mock exams with marking and feedback at weekends and in school holidays
• A carefully designed, 4 hour per week, full A Level Economics course with engaging resources and targeted academic mentoring
I have taught A Level Economics for over ten years and also have experience with the International Baccalaureate.
As an Expert Examiner with significant experience, my main aim as a tutor is to share my knowledge of exam skills and pass on 'exam hacks'. This includes maximising marks in levelled based answers and using diagrams and context effectively.
I am able to provide extensive resources to meet the needs of individual students. This usually takes the form of case studies which are then marked and fed back and A* exemplar material which we can work through together.
A positive relationship is crucial to any effective tutoring and discussion of current affairs, how it relates to our study and the chance to challenge each others ideas is part of the joy of the sessions.
