I am a research student at Cardiff University studying Roman History.I am also an alumnus of the prestigious British School at Rome. My undergraduate degree was in Ancient History (2:1) achieving a first class mark in my dissertation.
My topics of interest are:
The late Roman Republic, Ancient Religion, The rise of Democracy in Ancient Greece.
As part of the coordination team of SHARE with Schools, I was responsible for creating, structuring and delivering workshops based around History and Religion to school groups in the Cardiff area.
Alongside this I have also lead discussions and seminars to an undergraduate and postgraduate standard throughout my degree.
If there is one thing I have learned through my experience in teaching and interacting with young people in a learning environment it is that everybody has a different way of learning best. I will always endeavor to provide a unique learning experience based on the individuals needs.
I believe that most of the highest grades can be unlocked through discussion and the swapping of ideas. In certain subjects, especially Classical Civilisations and history, the highest grades are often offered to those whose views on the subject are unique. The open dialogue that I aim to create between myself and the Tutee will aid them in becoming more confident in discussing their own ideas.
Alongside this I am, of course, more than happy to read and offer suggestions on how to improve coursework, such as essays and presentations in order to unlock the highest grade possible.
